What it is
The McElroy Polypropylene Hot Tap Tool lets you install a branch on a live main with the system under pressure. It completely seals the system, drills through the saddle fitting, and retains the coupon, so there is no shutdown, no drain-down, and no disruption of service. In an occupied building or a plant that cannot stop, that is the whole job.
The tool is hand- or drill-powered, sets up quickly, and its dimensions are optimized for working in tight spaces. The cutter is built for PPR-RCT and holds onto the coupon and the pipe chips instead of dropping them in the line, no extra fusion is required, and the tool is rated to a maximum pressure of 165 PSI.
The Productivity Package is the full spread: a Hornet outlet fusion tool to fuse the saddle, the hot tap tool itself, a load cell pressure adapter, and four sizes of test caps and cutters. Fuse the saddle, tap the main, and put the branch in service while the rest of the system keeps running.

Power & Generator
The hot tap tool runs off a hand crank or a standard drill, so the tap itself needs no jobsite power. The included Hornet fuses the saddle with a McElroy socket heater, available in 110V and 230V versions, covered by any standard circuit or a small generator. Materials
This is a PPR-RCT package end to end: the Hornet fuses the saddle to the PPR-RCT main, and the tap tool cutter is designed for PPR-RCT pipe.
