What it is

The Top Gear 630 is an orbital band saw for big plastic pipe, 10″ to 24″ IPS. A butt fusion joint is only as good as the cut behind it, and on pipe this size a square face is not something you freehand. This is the tool that puts a clean, perpendicular cut on the end of the pipe before the fusion machine ever clamps it.

The ring clamping system wraps the pipe and keeps the blade tracking true, so you get precise cuts even on oval and thick-walled pipe, up to 80 mm of wall on the 230V version. The orbital movement is automatic and the operator runs the whole cut remotely from a control panel, able to step in at any moment, which keeps hands well away from the blade.

The band saw itself weighs 44 lb and travels in its own transport case, so it moves between jobs in the back of a pickup. Cutting for a fusion spread? Pair it with a machine like the Delta 630 Easy Life and your joint prep is handled end to end.
